Paolo is a professional conductor, pianist and accompanist, with over three decades of working experience in classical and modern music on stages across Europe.
He studied Piano, and subsequently Composition and Conducting at the Milan National Conservatory of Music, and went on to obtain a Master degree in Musicology at the Universita di Muscologia e Filologia Musicale (Cremona, Italy) and subsequently a Master of Advaced Study (DEA) in Music and Musicology at the Universite de Paris IV-Sorbonne. He perfected his orchestral and choral conducting skills in Germany and France with internationally renown professors and Music Directors such as M° M. Bordignon, M° H-J. Brandenburg, M° J.F. Verdier and more recently in the UK under the guidance of Dr. P. Sarcich, M° D. Ham (Royal Academy of Music) and M° C. Metters. Current engagements include directorship of the New Malden Orchestra and of the Blackfriars Sinfonia in London, guest-conducting the Morley Orchestra and the Blackheath Conservatoire Orchestra. He has recently been offered the position of MD at the prestigious Bird-College of Performing Arts in South London to lead the Youth Concert Orchestra and the Adult Light Orchestra. He has performed both as pianist and conductor in Italy, Switzerland, France, and United Kingdom. His conducting career has lead him to work with countless professional and amateur ensembles, chamber and college orchestras, choral societies performing symphonic and operatic repertoire. He is also active as an arranger. |
