ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT MAKING MUSIC TOGETHER? The NEW MALDEN ORCHESTRA offers an exciting opportunity to play the great symphonic music in a friendly group of players under the lead of an experienced conductor. The NEW MALDEN ORCHESTRA is the ideal ensemble where you can learn to play and enjoy the orchestral repertoire: it provides a safe environment where players can develop their technical and reading skills on the instrument at a moderate pace. There is no pressure towards public performance, no anxiety to make mistakes. We are a training orchestra in which musicianship is nurtured and each player can progress at their own pace.
Come and enjoy playing a wide variety of pieces selected from the orchestral repertoire ranging from classical to light music, and including overtures, symphonies, ballet music, concertos, and suites from musical shows. Join us for another successful season of music making: Rehearsals take place at the Malden Centre every Thursday mornings 10-12am during school terms. There is no formal audition and everyone is welcome to join in for a trial session, whether beginner or adult learner, seasoned musician or restarting to play after many years: dust off your instrument and come along, meet other players and get into the swing!
